Description

Guy's Farmhouse is a late 18th-century building that was originally a pair of semi-detached houses but has since been converted into a single residence. It features coursed squared and dressed limestone with dressed stone quoins, and has an artificial stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. The main body of the house has a rectangular plan and is two storeys high with an attic, including two 20th-century hipped roof dormers.

On the first floor, there are two segmental-headed windows, one of which has early leaded panes. The ground floor has two similar three-light casements, one featuring horizontal glazing bars. At the center, there are a pair of segmental-headed doorways, one of which is now blocked. The right-hand doorway has a 19th-century plank door that has been modified to include glazing in the upper part.

The right gable end, facing the road, includes a two-light metal casement with early leaded panes. A two-storey extension is present at the rear right, featuring a two-light wooden casement on the ground floor and an early cross-mullioned window with leaded panes on the first floor. There is also a large 20th-century fixed casement with a concrete lintel to the ground floor, positioned left of a 20th-century projecting porch.

The south front has two 12-pane sash windows in the right-hand bay of the main body, both set within dressed stone surrounds. To the left, there is a glass door with glazing bars. A 19th-century extension projects forwards to the left, featuring a two-light casement on the ground floor and a 12-pane sash window with a segmental head on the first floor. The late 18th-century extension to the right is also two storeys high and has a single two-light raking dormer. The first floor is lit by cross windows with early leaded panes, while the ground floor has a twelve-pane sash window within a dressed stone surround and a round-headed window with radiating glazing bars and a dressed stone surround in the left-hand bay. To the right, there is a 1½ storey 20th-century extension. The building has gable-end and lateral stacks with moulded cappings. The interior has not been inspected.
