Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a former pair of cottages, now a single house, located next to Church Farmhouse. The earliest part of the building dates from the late 17th century to early 18th century, while the later section was built in the 18th century. The structure is made of coursed squared and dressed limestone and features a concrete tile roof. It has a rectangular plan with a wash-house extension at the gable end and stands two storeys tall.
The earlier section, which is closest to the lane, has two 2-light stone-mullioned casements on the first floor, along with one 3-light and two 2-light stone-mullioned casements at the rear. The other windows consist of 2 and 3-light metal casements, all fitted with horizontal glazing bars. The earlier cottage has a 19th-century plank door with a flat-arched surround, while the later cottage features a 20th-century part-glazed door within a dressed stone surround. The building has axial and gable-end stacks with cappings and skirtings. The interior has not been inspected.
