Description

High Bank Cottage is a former stable, later converted into a house with a stable at the end of a row of cottages, dating to the late 18th and 19th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with a limestone slate roof and limestone gable coping. The building has a rectangular plan. The symmetrical facade features a single storey and an attic, with two 2-light dormers containing metal casements. Two 19th-century 3-light stone-mullioned casements are positioned on either side of a central glazed plank door, which has a plain architrave and leads up a flight of L-shaped steps. All windows have leaded panes. Three 'X' brace ends are visible across the facade. A single-storey stable is attached to the right, featuring a blank wall facing the road and a half-hipped roof at its gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
