Description
This is an unidentified chest tomb located about 11.5 meters south of the southwest buttress of the south porch in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary. It is probably from the late 17th century. The tomb features a coffin top with stone handles at each end, and it has a moulded plinth and capping, both of which are deteriorating. The west end of the tomb has a blank cartouche, while the east end displays an open book, a head, and hands holding the book. The sides of the tomb are divided into two sections: the north side features a draped figure at the west edge and a carved panel with a head at the east edge. The south side is decorated with a double swag and cherub heads at the corners. All inscriptions on the tomb are completely obliterated.
