Description

This is a large, detached house located on the north side of the Cirencester Road in Chipping Croft. It was built in the early 18th century and altered in the late 18th century. The house is constructed of rubble stone, with the south front faced in ashlar and render, and has a roof of Cotswold stone slate. It comprises a main range and a smaller parallel range extending across half the width of the house to the south.

The main south front is three stories high on the left-hand side. This section is ashlar-faced with chamfered quoins and a wooden eaves cornice with dentils. The first floor features a tall, three-light casement window with stone mullions and a wrought iron balcony across the top, displaying Adam motifs. Above this are three twelve-pane sash windows. The ground floor mirrors the style with a three-light casement acting as French doors. To the right of this, the front is rendered with quoins. This two-story section with an attic has three twelve-pane sash windows on the first floor and two gabled dormers with 19th-century decorative barge boards. The ground floor has two twelve-pane sash windows and a front door with a rectangular light over it, framed by a moulded stone architrave.
