Description

No 1 Long Street is a corner building that houses a bank and an office on the ground floor, with the office entrance located on Chipping Street. The building has a late 17th century core but was rebuilt in the mid-20th century using a steel frame and faced with applied timber framing. It features a Cotswold stone slate roof and has two widely spaced gables with a hipped dormer situated between them. The structure is two storeys tall with an attic and includes two pairs of three windows with twin metal casements. The ground floor shop fronts are overhung by jettied gables, which are supported by four Doric columns. The columns at the bank, which is adjacent to No. 3 Long Street, have large impost blocks.
