Description
Number 6 and the adjoining outbuildings are located in Windrush Village and date from the 18th century and 20th century. The building is constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone and features a stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. It has a long rectangular shape, with the main body consisting of two storeys and an attic, which is lit by single light casements with leaded panes in the gable ends. The front of the building is symmetrical, presenting a two-windowed mirror image with two 2-light stone-mullioned casements on each floor. The left-hand bay has double-chamfered surrounds to the windows. All windows are steel casements with horizontal glazing bars. There are two 19th-century plank doors with flat canopies supported by moulded stone brackets above. To the left, there is a single-storey wash house that has been converted into a kitchen, featuring a part-glazed 20th-century door next to a 20th-century two-light casement. A single-storey extension is located to the right, which includes a single plank door. The gable ends of the main body have flat coping, and there are gable-end stacks. The interior has not been inspected. This property is owned by the National Trust.
