Description

Northwick Terrace comprises a row of eight houses dating to 1809. The houses are built of coursed rubble with a slate roof, featuring coped verges to the ends and stone ridge chimneys. There are three gabled dormers. Casement windows are a feature, with Nos 3 and 6 incorporating decorative lunette windows within pedimented gables. These gables have inscription panels – the panel on No 3 is blank – along with bracketed name panels and date panels. The houses are arranged with one window on the first floor and two on the ground floor, flanking the front door. The remaining houses are in pairs, with centralised doorways. Nos 1, 4, 5, 7, and 8 retain their original bracketed porches with segmental gabling. The front doors are panelled, except for No 3, where the door is modern. Above the doors, two-part windows are present: segment-headed, with a three-light outer section and a two-light inner section. The rear features tiled roofs, with Nos 1-4 having stone-tiled roofs. Several original outbuildings remain.
