Description
The Baker Monument is a chest tomb located approximately 7 metres south-east of the south-east corner of the chancel in the churchyard of the Church of St. Leonard. It commemorates Thomas Baker, who died in 1800, and his wife Sarah, who died in 1792. The tomb is made of limestone and features a flat top, which was originally surrounded by an iron railing. It has a moulded plinth and quarter balusters at each corner. Inscriptions are displayed within two rectangular fielded panels on the north side, with similar paired panels on the opposite side and fielded panels at either end.
