Description
5 Bells Cottage is a former inn that has been converted into two cottages, dating from the early 18th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a stone slate roof and features ashlar stacks, one of which has been repaired in brick. It stands two storeys tall, with an attic that is illuminated by three 2-light roof dormers. The façade has six windows, primarily consisting of tall rectangular 20th-century casements, some of which are cruciform, all fitted with leaded lights. There is an off-centre left plank door with glazing above, a blocked central door, and two blocked bulls-eye windows—one above the central door and another at the first floor level next to a straight joint to the right of the door. The door to No. 2, located on the right, is set in an ashlar dressed surround with a moulded hood above it. The building features flat gable-end coping on the left, gable-end stacks, and an axial stack. The interior has not been inspected.
