Description
Moore Cottage Hospital, located on Moore Road, was built in 1928 as the third location for the hospital; the first was at Eastfield, and the second at the Red House (the latter no longer standing). The building is designed in the Cotswold style, constructed from rubble with ashlar quoins and dressings. It has a stone slate roof with coped verges and finials, and diagonal chimneys. The building has a two-bay, single-bay, two-bay arrangement, featuring mullioned windows with drips. A central gable rises above a Tudor-arched doorway. Projecting side wings, originally with open ends on piers serving as porte-cocheres for ambulances, are hipped and now enclosed.
