Description
This is a pair of semi-detached houses built around the early to mid-19th century. They are constructed from coursed limestone with freestone dressings, and have a stone tile roof with gabled ends. The building features ashlar gable end and axial stacks topped with decorative weatherings and cornices.
The plan consists of two 3-bay houses with central entrances and rear outshuts. Number 1, located on the left, has a 20th-century addition at the rear.
The front elevation is symmetrical, with three bays on each side. The windows are 12-pane sashes, though those in Number 1 have been replaced with plastic pivot windows. Each house has a central doorway: Number 1 has a 20th-century open timber porch, while Number 2 has a 20th-century gabled stone porch. Four gabled dormers, each with 20th-century casements, light the attic space. At the rear (northwest), Number 2 has a two-storey outshut, and Number 1 has an outshut and a 20th-century flat-roofed extension.
The interior of the houses has not been inspected.
