Description
St Edward's House is a building dating from around 1730, constructed of ashlar stone with extensive decorative features. The roof is not visible. It showcases an elaborate Baroque style and stands three storeys high with two windows that have 19th-century sash frames set in flush panes with keyed heads. The central arched doorway features a keystone and a niche above it. This doorway is flanked by fluted pilasters topped with Corinthian capitals, which support giant strip pilasters that are richly carved along their entire length. The entire facade is adorned with full-height fluted pilasters with Composite capitals that support an embellished cornice, which also serves as the parapet. It is said that the building and its carvings were created by a craftsman named Shepherd.
