Description
No 5 Church Street, formerly known as the Three Cups Inn, is a building that now houses shops with living accommodation above. It has a core dating back to the late 16th century, although the front was completely rebuilt in the 1970s. The structure features four rendered gables, with a smaller gable on the right above the original carriage arch, and is topped with a Cotswold stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has seven windows, which include 16-pane sash windows and 9-pane sash windows in two of the gables. The ground floor consists of a shop front. Inside, it is said to contain a 9-foot stone fireplace and other remnants from the late 16th century, such as beams, although the interior has not been inspected. The building is listed primarily for its group value with Nos 1 and 3 Church Street.
