Description
These stables, built in the 18th century, are located approximately 18 meters southeast of Duntisbourne Leer Farmhouse. Constructed from random rubble limestone with dressed quoins, they feature a stone-slate roof. The building consists of two bays of stabling and has loft steps at the west end. The south front includes two stable doors, which now have sliding plank doors, and small windows on either side with timber frames and timber lintels. Stone steps lead up from two sides to a landing with nosing, followed by four additional steps to a loft doorway that has a plank door and timber lintel. The interior displays exposed purlin ends in the stable. The back of the building is built into a bank. This structure is included for its group value with the nearby farmhouse.
