Description
The Dadly Monument is a headstone located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Mary Magdalene, approximately 6 metres north of the chancel in Adlestrop. It commemorates Richard Dadly of Adlestrop, who died in 1643. The headstone is made of limestone and features a circular shape with a raised margin and an incised inscription in capital letters. The back is moulded to resemble a circular cushion. This monument is a well-preserved early example of an unusual form of headstone.
