Description
The boundary wall and railings at Medford House date from the 18th century, with the railings being from the late 19th to early 20th century. The iron railings and gate in front of the main part of the house are spear-headed and are flanked by two square ashlar limestone piers, each topped with a cornice and vase finials. The wall is made of coursed, squared, and dressed limestone, featuring a triangular sectioned capping. It extends to the right from the right-hand pier as far as Bank House and to the left of the left-hand pier up Church Lane to April Cottage. This section is interrupted by a late 18th-century wooden panelled double gate, with a single gate to the right leading onto High Street.
