Description
This stable, located approximately 35 meters north-west of Lower Farmhouse, is dated and initialled 'W.B / 1845' on a datestone at the east gable end. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone with a stone slate roof. The building has a rectangular plan and features a lean-to extension on the south side. There are stables attached to the north-east corner, which are not considered of special interest. The stable has stone steps leading up to a central plank door, with a similar plank door located below the landing of this door. To the left of the stone steps, there is a single 2-light casement window with a flat-arched head, and a similar casement window is found on the lean-to. The gable ends have flat coping. The interior was not inspected. At the time of the last survey in September 1986, the building was undergoing alterations. This stable is part of a group that includes a cart store.
