Description
Nos. 12-15 on Park Street are a row of four cottages dating from the mid to late 18th century. They were restored in the late 20th century by the Ernest Cook Trust, the current owners. The cottages are built from coursed rubble stone and feature a slate roof at the front and concrete tiles at the rear, with renewed brick stacks. The original structure consists of three storeys, with a large two-storey extension added at the rear that includes projecting porches.
On the far left, there is a throughway with an inserted paired 8-pane casement window that has a cambered voussoir head above it. The first and second floors each have one similar window, arranged as two pairs on the inner sides of the cottages, with 6-pane windows located under the eaves. The ground floor originally had similar windows and doors with four bolection panels on the outer sides of each cottage, but these have been removed and replaced with an additional paired 8-pane casement window.
