Description
Swell Mill Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse built of rubble with freestone quoins and keystones. It features a Cotswold stone roof with coped verges and end chimneys, while the left side is brick. The building is in an L-shape and has two storeys. The south front has four windows: the outer first-floor windows are four-light casements, and the inner ones are two-light casements. The ground floor has angled bays with glazing bar sash windows. At the center, there is a gabled ashlar porch supported by coarse Ionic pilasters, leading to a half-glazed door. On the left-hand return gable, there is a semi-circular projection with a Cotswold stone roof that serves as a bread oven. The rear has an angled lean-to that conceals an 18th-century oak-frame window.
