Description
Walnut Cottage is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with significant renovations and replacements from the 19th century. It is constructed from coursed, squared, and dressed limestone, featuring a raking buttress on the right side. The roof is made of limestone slate and has a square ashlar chimney stack located off-center to the left, along with a rectangular ashlar stack on the right gable end. The main body of the cottage has a single room depth and is a single storey with an attic. The attic is illuminated by three 19th-century gabled dormers, each fitted with 2-light metal casements that include glazing bars. On the right side of the facade, there is a slightly projecting 2-storey Cotswold gable, which is lit by 19th-century stone mullioned casements with two and three lights, featuring leaded panes and some with stopped hoods.
