Description
The Edward Palmer monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Michael, approximately 4 metres south of the nave. It commemorates Edward Palmer, the son of Robert and Alice Palmer, who died in 1740, along with other members of the Palmer family. The tomb features a moulded plinth and sunken inscription panels with moulded margins on the north and south sides. There are similar marginal panels, but the inscriptions are mostly illegible, with the date 1736 visible on the south side. The north and south ends also have illegible inscriptions. The tomb is capped with a thick stone that has a moulded margin, topped by a moulded capping stone.
