Description
Norn House is a detached house built in the mid-18th century. It features ashlar stone and a Cotswold stone slate roof, with raised coped gables and large stone stacks at each end. The eaves have stone brackets at approximately one metre intervals, although these do not provide support. The house is L-shaped, comprising two storeys and an attic. On the front, there are two widely spaced 12-pane sash windows on the upper floor, with similar windows below on the ground floor. The central entrance has a doorcase with a flat stone hood supported by carved brackets and a six-panel door. There is also a similar stone doorcase at the north gable end. The brackets continue along the gable end to the end of the wing, above a double-height early 19th-century canted bay.
