Description

This is a pair of early 18th-century houses, originally one dwelling, partially refaced in the 19th century to create two separate homes. The buildings are constructed of rubble stone, with the right-hand side (No. 31) having a dressed stone facade featuring large quoins and lintels. The roof is covered with Cotswold stone slates, with a stone chimney stack on the left gable and a rear brick stack with a cornice.

The house originally had three storeys. No. 29, on the left, retains its original windows: one on each floor, each a two-light stone mullioned window with a double chamfer. A sill band runs along the first floor. No. 31 has two storeys and an attic, with a projecting facade containing two 16-pane sash windows and a single gabled dormer. The original central doorway on the ground floor has been relocated to the left. A stone mullioned two-light window with a square hoodmould and an oval plaque displaying "SHA 1777" is found on the right return gable.
