Description
Pear Tree Row is a row of cottages, now numbering seven, built in the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed from rubble stone and topped with a Cotswold stone slate roof. They were likely built as two or three separate blocks. The section from Nos. 25 to 33 on the right is the earliest block, featuring coursed rubble stone, three renewed ridge stacks, and a higher roof level. This block has three storeys, with the first and second floor windows being two-light leaded casements with stone mullions that are positioned very close together, creating the appearance of a single window with a broad transom, which is actually three courses of stone. The ground floor has three-light windows of a similar style. No. 23 to the left has a two-storey ashlar bay with wooden casements, while Nos. 19 and 21 at the left end have been restored to resemble Nos. 25-33. There are two ridge stacks on this side, and the doors vary, with some being half-glazed and featuring either stone or wooden lintels.
