Description

Quenington Court is a detached house built in the early 19th century on the site of a former Preceptory of the Knights Hospitallers, which was demolished in the 17th century. The building features coursed and dressed stone with alternating flush quoins and a stone slate roof. It has ashlar end stacks with an offset and moulded cornice on the front range. The house consists of a single front range and a double rear range, both three storeys high, along with an additional lower rear range.

On the northwest front, there are four windows: the second floor has 9-pane sash windows, while the first and ground floors have plate glass sashes, with the ground floor windows being longer. All windows are set in flush stone surrounds. A large pointed arch three-light window, likely a stair window, is located on the left-hand return and features Gothick margin tracery. Below this window is a six-panel door, with the top two panels glazed and the rest recessed with moulding. The remaining windows are two or three-light casements.

Quenington Court is prominently visible through the Knights Hospitallers Gateway, which was formerly part of its grounds, and from the churchyard of the Church of St. Swithin. The house forms a group with these nearby buildings.
