Description
The Charles Ricknell monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Michael, approximately 2 metres south of the chancel. It commemorates Charles Ricknell, who died in 1714, Elizabeth Ricknell, who died in 1722, and other family members. The tomb features a sunken rectangular panel on the south side, which is flanked by round-headed arches with dropped keystones. The north side mirrors the south but includes an inscription to Charles Ricknell in the central panel and an inscription to Elizabeth Ricknell in the left-hand panel. The monument is topped with thick capping that has a stepped margin and bale with recessed ends above.
