Description
No 2 Cottage and the adjoining farm buildings at Home Farm date from the late 18th to early 19th century. They are constructed from coursed squared and dressed limestone and topped with a concrete tile roof. The cottage, which is at the right end of the long rectangular plan, has two storeys and an attic that is illuminated by two 2-light roof dormers. The facade is symmetrical, featuring two 2-light stone-mullioned casements with hoods on each floor, and there are 19th-century plank doors at both the far right and far left. The gable ends of the stables and cottage have flat coping. To the left of the cottage is an open-fronted store with five round-headed open bays. The stable, also to the left, has a central stable door flanked by two 2-light stone-mullioned casements, and there is access to stairs leading to the loft, which has two additional 2-light stone-mullioned casements. The gable ends of the stables and cottage were formerly adorned with finials.
