Description
Aston Farmhouse is a large farmhouse that was rebuilt in the mid-19th century, incorporating elements from an earlier house dating back to the early 18th century or late 17th century. The building is constructed from coursed rubble stone and features flush long and short quoins. It has a Cotswold stone slate roof and three tall stone chimneys, also with flush long and short quoins, which have two or three diagonally set flues. The farmhouse is designed in a double range with cross gables and stands three storeys high. The garden front, facing south, has two windows: a three-light stone-mullion window on the left and a two-light window on the right, both with hood moulds. There is a gabled Tudor porch on the west side, which includes a double panelled door, a coped and buttressed gable, and a saddlestone. The gables on the house that do not have stacks feature very small saddlestones.
