Description

The Statue of Buddha, located in Batsford Park Arboretum, is a Grade II listed structure. It was brought to England from China by Lord Redesdale in the late 19th century. The statue, which is of unknown antiquity, is made of bronze and stands about 2 meters tall on a limestone plinth. It depicts a seated figure in a lotus position, with a halo and its right hand raised. The ornate base rests on a roughly hewn stepped stone plinth.
