Description
Malvern Mill is an 18th-century building that has been disused since 1923 and converted into a dwelling. It is now two storeys high with a basement, constructed from rubble and topped with a Cotswold stone roof. There is a stone chimney on the west side and a brick chimney on the east side. The windows are arranged irregularly, with three on the first floor; two of these share a common lintel and consist of two and three-light leaded casements. To the right, there is a six-panel door with a modern rustic porch, which was formerly a first-floor window. The east gable features pigeon loft tabling and a primitive type of mullion window, dating from the 1920s or 1930s. The wheel-house on the right has been entirely altered to create a one-and-a-half storey extension, with exposed timbering that has a slight slant to the rear. The original appearance of the mill is depicted in a painting from 1886, which is illustrated in Dr. Icely's book on Blockley.
