Description
The coach house, located approximately 5 meters north of Southrop Manor, dates from the mid to late 18th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble limestone and features a stone slate roof. The south-facing side of the coach house has a coach doorway on the left with a timber lintel, and above it, there is a gabled loft doorway. There are two central oval arched doorways, each with 9-panel doors, and to the right, a two-light recessed chamfered mullioned casement with a relieving arch above. An attached ashlar gatepier with a ball finial matches the one connected to Southrop Manor to the south. The roof is hipped, and there is one two-light casement on the north side. The interior has not been inspected. This building plays an important role in enclosing the main village street.
