Description
Westerley Cottage is a house in a terrace, dating from the early to mid-18th century. It features a coursed rubble stone or cemented plinth and a stone slate roof, which was temporarily removed for restoration at the time of survey in April 1985. There is a concrete end stack to the left. The building has a double range with a lower rear range, a through passage, and is two storeys and an attic in the front range, with two storeys in the rear.
The front facade has two windows with 12-pane sashes. On the ground floor, there is a 12-pane sash window to the left and an early 19th-century shop window to the right, which has been replaced with a 20th-century window featuring 16 large panes and a cemented base. This shop window is adorned with a wood dentil cornice and a triglyph block with guttae at each end. The door between the windows consists of six panels, with the top two being glazed, the middle two recessed, and the lower two also recessed with decorative beading. Additionally, there is one gabled dormer with a 6-pane sash window.
