Description
The bakehouse, located approximately 25 meters east of Guy's Farmhouse, dates from the mid 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed of limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins and features an artificial stone slate roof, which has the stump of an ashlar stack. The building has a rectangular plan and includes a large projecting bread oven at the east gable end. On the side away from the road, there is a plank door and a two-light wooden casement window with glazing bars. The east gable end has a two-light window, while the opposite gable end has a single-light window. There is a gable end stack as well. Inside, the bakehouse has large square ceramic tiles on the floor, and the door to the bread oven remains in place. The original collar and tie beam roof truss with butt purlins is also preserved. This building is situated in a prominent location beside the road at a corner.
