Description
The Manor is a 17th-century Cotswold manor house that has undergone significant restoration. It features traditional coursed rubble construction with Cotswold stone roofs and stands three storeys tall. The front has four gables and includes three and four light stone mullioned casements, with transoms on the ground and first floors, all accented by drip moulds that create a continuous string course on the first floor. The entrance has a plain four-centred doorway with a modern door. The gables are coped and topped with ball finials, and there are ashlar stacks.
The garden front was modified in 1769, as indicated by the dated rainwater heads, and features sash windows with glazing bars. Originally known as Bourton Manor, it has been referred to as The Manor since around 1900. Most of the rainwater heads are dated 1921, marking the time of 20th-century restoration. Inside, the south bay showcases early to mid-18th-century replica panelling and a marble fireplace.
