Description

2. 1876. Norman style. Cruciform plan. Rubble with slate roofs, coped verges. Gable to street has an octofoil wheel window, with quatrofoil centre, encircled by lozenge decoration, and has clasping buttresses to sides. Toothed coping to gable verge. Arched central door with ball-work string and flanking pairs of lancets with dog-tooth surrounds. Modillion eaves cornices to returns; lean-to on return to north for stairs to gallery; arched windows. Schoolroom to rear. Gatepiers in front, to road, have reversed scallop capital tops and toothed moulding at necking. Flanking boundary walls are about 4 ft 6 ins and capped with short cast-iron railings. Spacious, cruciform plan interior.
