Description
Ivy Nook, also known as the Old Bridge Restaurant and Duttons, is a building dated 1684 that has been altered in the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble and features a low pitch Welsh slate roof, likely a modification from the mid-19th century. The building stands three storeys high and has four windows, which include three light mullioned casements and two single light windows. The stone mullions are present on the first floor, while the upper windows have wooden mullions. Drip moulds are also visible. The ground floor has projecting single storey shops that have been added in recent years. Three stone ridge stacks indicate the division into two properties, a change that occurred when the roof was altered in the mid-19th century. For historical views of the house before it was obscured by the projecting shops, refer to the National Monuments Record.
