Description

Tankards is a semi-detached house dating from the mid-18th century. It has a brick facade applied to a rubble stone core, with a random-coursed rubble plinth and alternating chamfered quoins. The roof is covered in stone slates, with a rendered end stack to the left. The house is single range with a rear catslide roof. It has two storeys and three windows. The windows are 4-pane sashes, set in shallow reveals with splayed brick voussoirs. The ground floor windows have splayed brick voussoirs that are narrower than the window openings themselves, featuring surface sash boxes and later 19th-century 12-pane sashes. All windows have stone sills. The central recessed doorway, raised one step, has two long vertical panels, splayed brick voussoirs, and a flat wooden hood supported by scrolled brackets with a moulded edge.
