Description
The farm buildings and walls framing a quadruple foldyard, located 40 yards north of Manor Farmhouse, were built around 1910. The architect is said to be "Mr Gray of London" for H A Brassey, a railway millionaire. The structures are made of rubble with Cotswold stone roofs and feature a fine symmetrical E-plan layout with projecting cross-wings. These main ranges create subsidiary yards enclosed by walls to the south. The design reflects a classicizing style with Cotswold elements, including mullion windows. The north-south ranges are slightly lower, allowing for lunette windows in the gables of the cross-wings and in the other gable ends. The north range includes a central louvred cupola, a barn to the left, and three large and three small gables to the right, featuring two segmental and one arched entry. There are three openings under steel lintels on the right side. The south gable return has a tablet inscribed with "B(rassey)" above "1910".
