Description
The Waine family monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Bartholomew, approximately 15 metres south-east of the vestry. It commemorates a member of the Waine family who died in 1743 and is made of limestone. The tomb features a moulded plinth and a cartouche-like inscription panel on the north side, surrounded by foliate decoration and cherubs' heads at the top. There are fielded marginal panels on either side, also adorned with foliate designs. A similar inscription panel is found at the west end, again topped with a cherub's head. The tomb has fielded inscription panels on both the north side and the west end, capped with a moulded margin and a hipped moulded pyramidal capping stone.
