Description
Aldsworth Manor is a manor house dating to the mid-17th century. A porch and small extension were added in the 20th century. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone with dressed stone quoins, and has a stone slate roof with ashlar stacks. The building is rectangular with a stair projection and a small 20th-century extension at the rear. It has two storeys and an attic, with two 20th-century three-light roof dormers. The facade is arranged with a 2:1:2 window rhythm, featuring a central, gabled porch added in the 20th century. The windows are four-light, hollow-moulded stone-mullioned casements with transoms and king mullions, and a continuous dripmould above the ground and first floors. Two rectangular openings are blocked on the far left of the facade. A 20th-century panelled door is set within a flat-chamfered, Tudor-arched surround in the projecting porch, with a three-light stone-mullioned casement above. Two-light stone-mullioned windows are present on the side walls. A 17th-century six-light stone-mullioned casement with transoms and two king mullions is found in the left gable end, while similar 20th-century stone-mullioned casements illuminate the right gable end. All casements have rectangular leaded panes. The gable ends have flat coping. Axial and gable-end stacks are present. A limited inspection of the interior revealed no features of special interest.
