Description
Sezincote Lodge, located on the Sezincote Estate, is a lodge built around 1805 by S. P. Cockerell. The structure is made of coursed squared and dressed limestone, topped with a concrete tile roof and a stump of an ashlar stack. The porch features a limestone slate roof and is set back from the facade on the right side. The building has a rectangular plan and stands two storeys tall with two windows. The windows are two-light metal casements with diamond leaded lights, set in flush surrounds with rounded upper corners. There are ashlar pilasters between the windows and at the corners of the building. A plank door is located in a round-headed surround at the far right.
The most decorative elements are found in the gable ends. The left gable end features three windows, with two single slit lights within pointed architraves flanking a central two-light metal casement that has a four-centred arched architrave. Below this is a four-light canted bay with four-centred arched heads and diamond leaded casements, flanked by two blind four-centred arched doorways. The flat wooden gable coping has hollow pointed finials, and there is a decorative barge board with pendants from the eaves. The roof of the porch runs parallel to that of the main body of the lodge. The interior has not been inspected.
