Description
Sherborne Gardens is a house and office located in the former grounds of Sherborne House. It dates from the 17th to early 18th century and was rebuilt in the 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with a slate roof and ashlar stacks. It has a long narrow range that is only one room deep. The rear wall provides shelter to a walled garden on the south side.
The building is two storeys high and features three 2-light and one 4-light stone-mullioned casements on the ground floor, which are possibly from the 17th to early 18th century. There is a large fixed casement with glazing bars set within a segmental-headed surround on the far right. The first floor has eight 2-light wood casements with glazing bars. There are two 19th-century plank doors within segmental-headed surrounds on the ground floor, and a segmental-headed access to the cellar is located down steps to the right of the left-hand doorway. The building also has stumps of axial and gable end stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
