UPPER SLAUGHTER GENERAL SP 1523 9/177 4 Chest Tombs 25 & 30 - yards SW of Porch of Church of St Peter GV II

4 chest tombs. Early C19. Local type. Ashlar with fluted corner pilasters, the two tombs furthest from church (c & d) with oval panels to carved husk decoration; stepped capping with roll-ridge (residual bale). a) William Cook, died 1831 b) Sarah Cook, died 1835 c) Thomas Loc, died 1821 d) William Loc, died 1838

These chest tombs are prominent in the churchyard, which otherwise has C17 and C18 headstones, and of good design. Only one was damaged at time of resurvey (1981).
