Description
Cirencester Natural Therapies is a house that has been converted into offices, dating from the mid to late 17th century. It is constructed of coursed squared limestone rubble, with some traces of old limewash, and features a concrete tile roof and a concrete blockwork stack on the rear wing. The building has two gables at the front and stands two storeys high with an attic, presenting a three-window range.
The front facade includes three 6/6-pane sash windows set in chamfered stone surrounds, which likely originally had stone mullions and transoms that have since been removed. Above, there are two similar windows in the gables. The ground floor also has three similar windows. To the right, there is a six-panel door in a plain reveal, accompanied by a decorative overlight that is now blocked. Moulded string courses run above the ground and first floors, as well as over the windows in the gables.
At the rear, there is a large 17th-century wing. The interior has been partly inspected; the left side of the ground floor features plastered beams with broad chamfers and run-out stops, and a 20th-century staircase rises from this room. A late 18th-century stick-baluster staircase, which may have been altered, was seen from the ground to the first floor at the back of the building. There is also a half-glazed back door with glazing bars and colored glass borders. The interior is reported to retain no fireplaces.
