Description
The building known as The Coach House and the adjoining house in Brockhampton is a former coach house that has been converted into two residences. It dates from the late 18th century to the 19th century and is constructed from coursed squared and finely dressed limestone, with coursed limestone rubble and an artificial stone slate roof. The structure has a limestone rubble stack and features an 'L'-shaped plan.
The Coach House is 1½ storeys high, while the adjoining house is 2 storeys. The Coach House has a small gable that is lit by a single light towards the apex, with a 20th-century two-light casement window below. The ground floor has three double-width segmental-headed openings. There is a blocked door on the far right, which has a 2-light casement window with glazing bars inserted into the blocking.
To the left of The Coach House, there is a small single-storey outbuilding that is attached via a wall and is lit by a 2-light stone-mullioned casement. The adjoining house features 20th-century one and two-light casements, along with a part-glazed door in the gable end. Both parts of the building have flat and saddleback gable end coping, with roll-cross saddle and triangular kneelers on the forward-facing gable of The Coach House. The house adjoining has pointed finials. The interiors have not been inspected.
