Description
This is a chantry dating to the 19th century, situated on Sheep Street. The building is constructed of coursed and squared rubble, with a band separating the ground floor and a stone cornice beneath the eaves. Carved kneelers are present on the verges. The roof is slate, and features ashlar chimneys with dentil capping.
The main section has two windows on the front elevation, with a single window to the side. These are tall, three-light mullion windows with drips; the ground floor window on the right-hand side has only two lights. The right-hand section has a hipped roof with a segmental gable to the west. The gable end of this section is a prominent feature, decorated with diaper and chequer patterns created using knapped and unknapped flints, alongside rusticated quoins and dressings. It has three windows with drips, and a central door above which is a carved lintel reading "office." The main section's chimney is topped with a relief cross finial.
The gatepiers are situated either side of the entrance. The left-hand gatepier projects from the building and connects with the continuation of the floor band. An inscription "RWG 1862" is visible on the east gable.
