Description

Dated 1769, Jasmine Cottage and The Manse were originally built as one dwelling and later divided into two. The construction is of coursed rubble, with some Cotswold stone visible, and the roof is covered with concrete tiles. The building is two storeys and has an attic, with a symmetrical arrangement of four windows. Most windows are 2- and 3-light wooden casements with elliptical heads, but Jasmine Cottage features two large multi-paned sashes. Plain plank doors are present. A gabled dormer window sits on the roof, and there are three stone chimney stacks. A central date inscription reads “MJE 1769”. At the right-hand end of the front elevation is an archway leading to the Baptist Chapel, which has a semi-circular head, stone surround, imposts, and a keystone. An inscribed panel above the archway reads "To the Baptist Chapel."
