Description

Close Cottage, also known as Hardcastle Williams (Opticians), is an 18th-century building located on Sheep Street. It is constructed of rubble with a roof that features both concrete tiles and Cotswold stone. The building has two storeys and three windows, which include 19th-century and modern casements, as well as one modern shallow small-paned bow window. There are two plain doors on the facade. The roof is steeply pitched and has ridge stacks. To the left, there is a large carriageway with wooden doors. Close Cottage has a gabled extension and is included for its group value.
