Description
The Kinard Baghot monument is a chest tomb located in the churchyard of the Church of St Mary, approximately 20 meters east of the chancel. It commemorates Kinard Baghot, who died in 1794, and his daughter Hester, who died in 1808. The tomb is made of limestone and features a flat stone that once had a railing around it. On the south side, there is an inscription to Kinard Baghot, framed by a raised margin with quadrant corners and single florets in each corner. The north side displays a cross-shaped inscription plaque dedicated to Hester Baghot, with a single boss in each corner. There is also a partially legible rectangular inscription plaque at the west end and an oval inscription plaque at the east end, which is currently blank.
